Introduction
The electric installation and the communication system use the semiconductor extensively.
However, the semiconductor is not stress proof to a high voltage and the semiconductor is not functioning or damaged by lightning surge, occasionally.
The influences reach not only the devices but also the entire system, and various protection means are thought.
TOYO ELECTRIC’s “SURGE ISOLATION TRANSFORMER(SIT)” is an excellent performer because it rarely the breakdown and is easy to treat and is in various places.

Functions

“SURGE ISOLATION TRANSFORMER(SIT)” is a brand name of the transformer which our company TOYO ELECTRIC CORPORATION commercialized.

Function of a transformer : The function the same as a general transformer.
Lightning surge withstand voltage has a high level.
Function of lightning surge reduced
The translate of the common mode (between power line and the earth) lightning surge which invade from the primary side to the secondary side can be inhibit.

Features
It can decrease a primary lightning surge less than 1/1000 (-60dB)
Performance of lightning impulse withstand voltage
This is a transformer of low voltage class, and able to endured 30kV lightning impulse voltage between primary winding and earth.

Various devices are sold as devices for the surge protective devices, they are classified according to
the characteristic of the surge protective devices.
It is shown in Table 1

“SURGE ISOLATION TRANSFORMER(SIT)” equipped with the earthed plate between coil winding of primary and secondary. And “SURGE ISOLATION TRANSFORMER(SIT)” can reduce the surge translate from the primary side to secondary side.
