Depending on a phase of the transformer when the power is turned on, the iron core may saturate and excessive current may flow transiently.
This is called the magnetizing inrush current, which can reach a maximum of ten to several tens of times of the rated primary current.
Therefore, it is neccessary to be careful when selecting the protection device on the primary side.
