IP stands for International Protection, and the numbers following it indicate the level of dust-proof and waterproof protection. (Standards: IEC 60529, JIS C 0920)
・The first characteristic number is “Degree of Protection Against Human Body and Solid Foreign Matter (Dust).
・The second characteristic number indicates the degree of protection against water ingress.
In the case of IP64, “6” means that dust cannot enter (dust-proof type), 4″ means no harmful effects from splashes from any direction (splash-proof type).
