Negative emissions refers to the reduction of atmospheric carbon dioxide emissions to a negative value, i.e., the absorption of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
It refers to technologies that absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
The two major technologies are BECCS (Biomass Electricity Generation with CO2 Capture and Storage) and DAC (Direct Air Capture).
